Sponsored Accounting Policies

The following policies, posted at the Sponsored Projects Financial Operations department website, govern the conduct of externally funded research:

• Cost Sharing – the use of University funds toward the conduct of an externally funded project. In addition to these Sponsored Accounting regulations, further guidance for PIs is available here.
• Cost Transfer Policy – the transfer of expenditures among externally funded projects or between University cost centers and the externally funded project.
• Effort Certification – the tracking of the amount of effort that the Principal Investigator and other key personnel devote to an externally funded project.
